Hi, I’m Antonio Hajden
I run a game development project called BitHermit, where I do design, programming and art stuff. I also write and take care of this blog.
My writing covers topics like creative freedom, playfulness, video games, art and productivity (when I’m not procrastinating writing about it). I’m interested in expressions of thoughts and feelings in various art forms, and how we relate to them as both creators and consumers. Especially as it pertains to the medium of video games.
I also like to write retroactive development logs of my games, where I go over my creative process and journey from concept, through reiteration, to the elusive finish line… Well, maybe not that last bit just yet.
Regarding video games, I care about storytelling, design and mood crafting.
If you want to get in touch, you can stalk or shout at me on Twitter.
Tidbits and trivia:
Participated in one more game jam
After nearly a decade of fiddling with Unity and gamedev as a hobby, I added programming to my fledgling art and design skills. Started developing Solomeow’s Magic Blast.
- Prior to 2018
Worked mainly as a web and graphic designer. Abandoned countless game projects. Participated in several game jams.
Felt inspired by Braid, Aquaria and Newgrounds to want to start developing games.
- Early years
Childhood and adolescence were spent enamored with stories and games such as: Fallout, Zelda, Diablo, Magic the Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. Also poetry. Everything else was deemed of little to no consequence.
